I'm sure I'm not the only one who loves a bargain, or shopping around to find the best price on an item - it's in every girl's nature, right? Well, that is exactly how I came across the brand Daisy Street Shoes. I was trying to find some decent copies of Jeffrey Campbell Litas; I own a pair and I love them, but sadly I can't afford to buy a new pair whenever I fancy some. I knew copies existed but they were either the wrong shape, or looked cheap and nasty. However, I stumbled across Daisy Street Shoes' website and found exactly what I was looking for. Some people may disagree with copies being made of famous shoes, and if I had the money I would always buy the originals; but let's face it, not all of us are in that kind of position and still want the look without it costing a week's wage!
What started out as looking for copies of Litas soon turned into full-on love for this brand - I have never seen so many shoes from one website where I have wanted so many pairs! I have bought two pairs of shoes from them and was very impressed with the experience overall. The delivery time was reasonable and was within the stated time, the shoes arrived well packaged and they are surprisingly good quality considering how cheap they were. They always seem to have some discount code or another going on - Google and you'll find plenty - and offer free next day delivery if you spend £40+, which is a pretty good deal if you ask me.
Now onto the things about this brand that I don't think are so good. They have a range of shoes called Solange - which you would imagine would all be exactly the same, except for different fabrics, patterns, colours, etc., right? Well, that isn't the case and it makes things a bit confusing. For example, these Solange boots are pretty damn good copies of Litas. However, these ones are different design entirely (note the number of eyelets) and these ones again are a different design (they feature a zip fastening whereas the others don't). If these different shoe designs were renamed accordingly it would be a lot less confusing!
The other thing is that their photography is not so great. Some shoes are photographed pretty well and show them off to their best, with good angles and colour representation. However some of the photos leave a lot to be desired - an example would be the Camryn wedges below. I think it's really important to have decent images of shoes that can only be purchased online, seeing as you can't see them in person before you buy them, and in some cases Daisy Street Shoes fall short - a little be frustrating when you're trying to look at the shoes you want to buy in detail!
However, I think that these are the only negative points to be made about Daisy Street Shoes and overall I really like the brand! I will be reviewing the next pair of shoes I buy - the Solange tan boots shown below - and comparing them to the Litas in the next month. But for now, here is my wishlist - whether or not I can walk in many of them is a different matter entirely...
