If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, then you will have seen that two weekends ago, me and Martin had an overnight stay at Ox Pasture Hall. There are blog posts to come about our stay (Let's just say that it was nothing short of amazing!), but for now here is what I wore during the day. Seeing as we were going to be doing a fair bit of travelling, I wanted to wear something that was comfortable and light. It was also due to be quite hot that day, which it was - I daresay the hottest day of the year so far! These pictures were taken quite late in the day, when the sun had gone in and it had cooled down, which to be honest suited me and Martin much better. When we had arrived at the hotel and settled in, we went for a walk around their gardens to take in the views - and it was the perfect excuse for some outfit photos!
The particularly eagle-eyed among you may remember that I featured a very similar outfit last year - although the pictures were taken on my phone and not the best quality. This top from Matalan was bought not long before that post was written, and it has made its way back into my wardrobe after the winter. I also have a coral version of this top, but it appears to have gone missing - grrr! I love it because it is floaty and forgiving, but it does seem to have shrunk in the wash slightly. The trousers are new to me from George at Asda, and you may remember them from a haul post last month. In these pictures they look like they are black and white, but actually they are dark blue and white with splashes of cream throughout. These are the comfiest trousers in the world, thanks to the elasticated waist - and they have pockets, too. My rather battered loafers from Primark will be out a lot this summer, as they are extremely comfortable and go with everything. I can wear them all day and they don't rub at all!
Moving onto accessories, and I'm wearing three items that are making an appearance for the first time! At some point last year, I placed a big order with Sammydress and bought nothing but necklaces; for some reason or another I never did a haul post about them. In that selection of necklaces was this one, and I had not yet had a chance to wear it. It looks like that it would be quite heavy, but it is in fact very light and I barely noticed it at all during the day. It complimented the v-shape neckline quite well and I think it helps bring the outfit together. As for my bag, I was kindly given this at the Zatchels store opening in York in June last year. Again, I've yet had chance to wear it! It is made out of 100% leather, and you can really feel the quality. The design is too small for my every day tastes, but seeing as I wasn't carrying much with me that day it worked out quite well. I was able to fit in my phone, coin purse, make up bag and camera, which was more than I was expecting. As you can see, it matches my shoes perfectly! Finally, my sunglasses. I am a big fan of Polaroid sunglasses, as they have polarised lenses, are made to last and are reasonably priced. This style I think suits me the best out of all the sunglasses I own, and I'm tempted to pick up the black version as well. These perform much better than sunglasses that are three or four times more expensive, and as I am yet to break them, they are much more durable too.
