Sheffield BBloggers: The Goody Bag

Sheffield BBloggers goody bag

In my last post, I told you all about the Sheffield BBloggers event that I went to in October - check out that post here if it managed to pass you by! I had a brilliant time at the event, but the fun didn't stop once we had all headed our separate ways. Oh no, once I got home I had this incredible goody bag to go through. I did have a look through it at the event (Which I will say again, was a welcome change), but I had to wait until I got home to go through it properly. It must have taken me easily an hour to get through! As you can see from the image above, there were some amazing products in there - we were well and truly spoilt. I've been using and enjoying quite a few of the products already, including the Balance Active Formula Day & Night Cream, which is now my daily go-to moisturiser, and the Papier Poudre Blotting Papers, which I'm trying instead of my usual Kleenex ones. There were some definite stand-out products of the goody bag - would you like to see them? Of course you would.

Believe it or not, I'm yet to try any products from Make Up Revolution - I know, I know, where have I been? I need to place an order soon! But, having seen their products on countless blogs and seeing endless good reviews, imagine my excitement when I saw these deep within the depths of the goody bag! I have to admit, when I saw that other bloggers received the "Give Them Nightmares" palette I was a bit jealous, but when I realised that I have five new lipsticks to try, my jealousy was soon forgotten. Throw in an eye primer and I was pretty pleased! I'm curious to see how this primer compares to the one below.

I have wanted to try an Urban Decay Primer Potion for the longest time, but have never been able to justify spending the money on one - and now, I don't need to! My mouth fell open when I saw this product, and I couldn't try it soon enough. I didn't realise however, that it is a beautiful, shimmery champagne shade - I just assumed that it would be neutral, silly me! This means that I've been able to use it on its own for a quick, easy eye look; I just blend it out with my fingers and it looks great every time. It also creates the perfect base for both powder and cream shadows, and of course doesn't crease at all - I don't know how I lived without this product for this long, as it is worth its weight in gold!

My first thought upon seeing this was "... BareMinerals do eyeliner?!" Call me stupid, but whilst I knew that BareMinerals did more than just their foundation, it had just never occured to me that they have a vast range of other make up products as well. I'm excited to try this eyeliner - I'm not usually one for it but this is such a beautiful, unusual yet surprisingly wearable shade that I think even I can make it work. It's pretty much the same shade that is indicated on the packaging; shimmering gold with tiny flecks of glitter, it's just stunning and perfect for the upcoming holiday season. This also has a built-in sharpener and a smudge tip on the other end, which serves to make my life much easier!

Crown Brushes have been doing the rounds on the blogosphere over the last few months - if I remember rightly, the company were at IMATS last year and I think that was one of the first times that I came across them online. This brush doesn't have a name printed on the other side like I believe their brushes do, but I think that this is the "C433 Pro Blending Fluff" - obviously, I can't say for sure. I have already used this, and it is so wonderfully soft; much softer and easier to work with than my Real Techniques brushes of the same variety, which really surprised me. It makes such light work of blending eyeshadow into my crease, which I've always struggled with before - again, I wonder how I managed without this before.

My first ever Essie polish! (It's at this point I'm wondering how I ever kept up solely beauty blogging for so long) In such a beautiful shade too - I know that I'll get a lot of wear out of this. It's a very simple, sophisticated neutral grey that will go with anything and everything. I unscrewed the lid to get a quick look at the brush and I was pleased to discover that it has one of the wide ones; they just make painting the nails so much easier, and often much neater too. I plan on wearing this as my next nail polish, and can see that having this one will start off a dangerous chain reaction of me needing to own more...

If you're looking at this and thinking "Cleansing conditioner? What is that when it's at home?", well, that's what I thought too. This product claims to cleanse and condition, provide style control and reduce drying time, all in one go - it sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? I gave it a go not long after the event, and was pleasantly surprised; it really does work very well. I might have to review it full at some point, as it is one of the strangest hair products that I've ever used! The generous sized can means that it will see me through a good few washes, so I will let you know what I think of it in due course.

Last but not least, is this tiny little sample that I fell in love with. It seems strange to get excited over something like this, but this was perfect for me for work as I can't take liquids over a certain size with me. Usually I'm stuck drinking plain water, but for a week or so I was able to use this and it tasted lovely! I will have to keep an eye out for these, as I could do with stocking up - I'm desperate to get my hands on some of the other flavours. Such a neat idea that works so well; just throw one in your handbag and you're good to go - they work out cheaper than buying bottles on your lunch break, that's for sure!
