Getting back into the swing of blogging today with an outfit from a little while ago. Me, Martin and a friend went to the British Street Food Awards at Millenium Square in Leeds on 27th September, and for one reason or another I felt like dressing up a bit. I think I had just bought my hat, that's probably why! I love this hat - I'd say usually that hats don't suit me, but on a whim I tried this one on in Primark and fell in love. It's 100% wool and was only £7, which I thought was a steal! It's already saved me from a few bad hair days, and it goes with pretty much anything, so I'm glad that I chanced upon it that day. The rest of the outfit is pretty Primark-heavy as usual, with the bright pink midi skirt that I picked up way back in March. This feels such good quality, and even has the detail of the exposed zip at the back. It's not a colour I would usually go for, but I think when worn with neutral colours it avoids being too much.
The top is a basic grey tshirt from ASOS - I picked a few of these up in different colours when ASOS had their end-of-summer sale not that long ago (How the heck is it November already?). They're a good fit and a decent length, and I like to wear them with skirts a lot. The jacket is a fairly recent purchase from H&M that I have worn a lot; I bought it in the sale for around £7 and it's replaced my blazer as a layer to throw on over a dress or top/skirt combo. It's perfect for those days where the weather can't make it's mind up! The necklace is one you might recognise from previous posts - I picked it up from Matalan just after my birthday, as I wanted a statement necklace to jazz up any plain tops or dresses. Because it's all silver, it goes with a lot of my other jewellery too so it's easy to incorporate into an outfit such as this.
If the shoes look a bit knackered, that's because they are - they are so comfy! They've been everywhere with me, from trudging up and down the beach in Whitstable to being worn to work; I could really do with getting another pair as back up, if Primark still do them. The ring is actually part of a multipack that are still in store at the moment - I think it was £3 for a pack of 6 and they're quite pretty considering how cheap they are. If they see them in any other colours I might have to pick some more up!
PS: I passed my theory test - yippee!
