A rather casual OOTD for you today - this is what I wore on Saturday to eat at Meat Liquor and grab a few beers afterwards. Normally I avoid wearng trousers when I know I'm going to be eating a big meal and this outfit reminded me why; I definitely felt like I needed to loosen my[bxA] belt afterwards! As a rule, I find wearing trousers to be quite uncomfortable and not especially flattering - although I think that this is due to the wrong style for my shape more than anything else. The top half of my legs are where I carry all my weight (that and my hips), and I taper down quite sharply to my ankles, so skinny styles are not the best look on me. Still, wear trousers I did and here we are today.
I bought this top from Asda a couple of weeks ago, and whilst it appears to be no longer in stock online I know that it is still in stores. They do a matching dress (Which I also bought) and skirt that are still available. As far as tops go - and I am quite picky - I don't mind this on me. It has regular length sleeves, so cover the tops of my arms nicely and it is a good length. However, with these trousers I found that it bunched up a bit at the sides and made me look lumpy, hence why I covered up with this jacket. I had yet to wear the jacket and I hadn't realised how thick it was; definitely more appropriate for the colder months! It's a "dinner jacket" style, so has metal faux buttons and cut out details on the lapels; it looks and feels much more expensive than it is. I bought it in the sale last month for just £9 down from £29.99, so I ended up getting an absolute steal there. It's something that can easily be thrown on to dress an outfit up or as an extra layer. The trousers are the ones from Primark that I've had for almost a year now, and in all honesty I'm falling out of love with them - or maybe it's just trousers in general? Seeing as they're ankle grazers on me, I decided to forgo the socks and break in these checked shoes from New Look that had again, not yet been worn. I ended up having to buy some shoe liners as they started to rub my feet, but were otherwise comfortable and I can foresee me getting a lot of wear out of them!
