Remember my latest Wednesday Wishlist post? Well, I decided to be a bit naughty and purchase everything bar one item from that post, using the excuse that it was my birthday. If I can't treat myself, then who will? I had a 20% off discount code to make use of as well, so it was a win-win situation really. The one item that I didn't buy was the Lace Jacquard Waterfall Cardigan, simply because it was out of stock in my size - typical! I will try and find it in store to try on, to see if I like it in real life. Anyway, here is what I did pick up, and I have to say that I am very pleased with my haul!
Animal Print Swing Dress, £14
I don't usually go for swing dresses; I worry that they'll drown me, and make me look bigger than I am (I don't have that luxury, trust me!). However, this really doesn't look as bad on as I expected. I sized up, to make sure that it flowed nicely over my lumps and bumps and that was a wise choice; however, I would still be tempted to belt it around the waist, which looks just as nice so it's good that I have that choice.
Floral Print Swing Dress, £14
As you can see, I ended up getting the two prints in the end, because I really couldn't decide which one I liked best. Now that I have them both in the flesh I'm still no closer in deciding, so I like to think that my purchase of both was justified! Even though both dresses are blue (Which in itself is quite out of sorts for me), I really like the yellow splashes of colour on this one - another colour to experiment with wearing!
Textured T-Shirt, £8
I said on my wishlist post that I had struggled to find a "neppy" style fabric top on the high street, but I am pleased to say that this one comes up trumps. Not only is it a lovely colour (I'm realising that there is a lot of blue in this post), the size is just right and the sleeves are pretty much spot on - winner! The only downside is that the neck is a little large, causing it to gape slightly, but it's perfectly fine to wear.
Aztec Print Soft Trousers, £12
These were such a surprise to me when I took them out of the package - they were nothing like I thought they were going to be! I presumed that they would be a crepey fabric, much like my pairs from Primark, but in fact they are made out of a very soft, flowing material. This is definitely an upside though, because they are so comfortable to wear - like pyjamas! I need to get some of the other prints before they sell out.
Silver & Pearl Flower Collar Necklace, £10 and Mesh Hinge Collar With Cream Cord, £10
These two are my most recent additions to my statement necklace collection, and very statement they are! I really wasn't sure about the flower necklace when I opened it up, because of the pearls - I thought that they looked a bit fake, and dare I say it, trashy. However, after trying it on it doesn't look nearly as bad as I was expecting and I'm very happy to say that I will be keeping it! The cord necklace surprised me with the closure - it's done up with a button, which believe it or not makes it so much easier to put on! I love the finish and dark tones of the metal combined with the white cord; they make a nice contrast, in both texture and colour and is hopefully one that I will be getting a lot of wear out of in the future.
