If you know me at all, then you will know that I am obsessed with rose gold. Whether it's on a handbag, piece of jewellery or even a bottle of perfume, I want to own it. With the perfume, I might not even like the fragrance itself all that much, but have considered buying it just for the packaging... that's how mad it gets, people! Anyway, I digress. I've had my eye on a rose gold Michael Kors[bxA] watch for quite some time - however, at over £200 a pop, they don't come cheap. I wasn't sure whether I liked the finish enough to want to wear it all the time, so I decided to look for a cheaper version to trial the idea.
In the end, it turns out that when I wasn't actively looking for such a watch, one of the girls I work with told me about this. This watch is from Argos, somewhere that I never would have considered looking - I've always written off their watches and jewellery as cheap and nasty, especially with unheard brands such as this. Even if I had spotted this online or in their catalogue, I'm not sure that I would have gone ahead and bought it. However, seeing it in the flesh made me want it instantly, and I went and bought it that weekend. It is only £13.99 (Although I could have sworn I paid £14.99 for it a few weeks ago!), and is part of an offer where you can buy two from their range for £20. The lady in the Argos store adjusted it for me for free as well, which was something that I was really quite impressed with.
After having worn the watch for a few weeks now, I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality. The metal isn't showing any signs of wear or tear, and the glass remains scratch-free. The only thing that I will say is that the "tick" is quite loud; if I leave it by my bedside I can hear it quite clearly, but on a day-to-day basis I don't notice it at all. All in all, I'm quite pleased with my cheap little watch- and I have to say that it has confirmed for me that I would one day like to own a Michael Kors version!
