Last night, I was invited to the Bobbi Brown counter in House of Fraser, Leeds to preview the new Nectar & Nude collection. I was quite excited to see the products before they launched today, however when we arrived, Rina told us that the products had not come into the store yet so was unable to show us the new collection. It was not their fault at all, but I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed! However, to save the situation Rina decided to show us a make up look that was debuted on the models for PPQ at London Fashion Week SS14. The vibe was very 1960's, with beehives, iconic sunglasses and floral prints.

To recreate the look, Rina had already prepped the model's skin and applied the Skin Foundation SPF 15. She then blended their White Eyeshadow all over the lid, to ensure that lid appeared smooth and even. The main focus of the make up look was the strong, graphic eyes that was created with the Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink, which Rina applied in an exaggerated cat eye flick. On the bottom lash line, she applied and smudged out the Smokey Eye Kajal Liner in Noir to bring the whole eye look together. A strong eye look needed softly defined brows to complement, not overpower so the Mahogany Eyeshadow was used to shape and define. Finally, the look was finished off with a sweep of the Pot Rouge in Uber Beige high on the cheekbones and Rich Lip Colour in Uber Beige.

The look was very wearable for both day and night, and I have to admit that I was surprised with how simple it was to create. The demonstration was over within 30 minutes, so a few of us bought some products and tested others, whilst the rest of us took our photos and had a little browse around the counter. It was very interesting to see how the look came together, but I feel that it would have been more beneficial to us to have seen a few different looks, demonstrated with more than one model. The event did feel a little bit rushed! However, Rina and the rest of the girls on the Bobbi Brown counter were lovely, and happy for us bloggers to take as many photos as we liked and answer questions about their products. We were also given some samples of their Skin Foundation SPF 15, Extra Bright Advanced Moisture Cream and Extra Eye Repair Cream for us to try - the latter of which I am very excited to use, as I've heard such good things about it from Miss Glamorazzi! I'll be reviewing those products as I use them in the future.

Thank you to Rina for inviting me to the event - I will be popping in store to have a look at the new Nectar & Nude collection when it is in stock!

  3. How odd that they'd invite you to an event but then not have the stuff in.
Seems like you had a good time anyway & it was good that they put on the display of that incredible look. Think I'm going to embrace the eyeliner and go thicker with it sometimes.
