All Used Up #8

June 11, 2013

I think I've done quite well with my empties this time around. I've been trying to make more of an effort to use things up than I had done previously and I'm slowly getting there. Any beauty blogger worth their salt will know how tedious it can be sometimes to use up products so you can use the ones you really want! However the ones I was trying to use up were quite easy to incorporate into my daily routine, so it wasn't too much of a struggle.

Bioderma Crealine H2O Micellar Solution
Everyone and their dog knows about this so I won't bore you with the details! I managed to buy this from eBay for a reasonable price and I was very impressed with it. It removed every kind of make up effortlessly and didn't leave my skin feeling agitated. My only criticism is that I used it up very quickly - far quicker than I had expected to, leaving me feel like I didn't get my money's worth.
Repurchase? Maybe, I have since found a good UK replacement.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation Normal/Dry Skin in 150 Buff
This was my holy grail foundation during winter. It covered up every blemish and red mark, lasted all day and didn't look too "plastered on". However in recent months I have been using my B. Naked foundation instead, and when I came back to this to get the last couple of uses out of it, it had dried up. My own fault really! I do miss this foundation on days where I need some higher coverage.
Repurchase? Yes, but in the Combination/Oily skin formula and in a lighter shade.

Nick Chavez Plump 'N Thick Leave-In Thickening Mist
This was in a JolieBox quite a while ago, I can't remember which one. But I started using it every day on my hair to test it out good and proper, and I have to say that I don't think it made any difference at all. I tested it with blow drying and leaving to dry naturally and nothing had changed. However, this did smell nice and was a generous sample, it lasted me a good few months before dying.
Repurchase? No.

Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment
Again, this was part of a JolieBox a while back and I was excited to try it. It smelt exactly like cola cubes, was lightly tinted, offered SPF protection and seemed to be a perfect product to use for work. I used it every work day since the day I got it and lasted me about four months. Believe it or not, this is the first lip product I have ever finished - how's that for a glowing review of a product, eh?
Repurchase? I have so many other lip products to get through, but hopefully one day yes.

Yu-Be Moisturising Skin Cream
Yet another beauty box sample, I did well with these this time! It says on the packaging that you can use this on your lips, so I thought great, it's going to be like the Papaya Ointment that I love so much. Not quite the case - it tasted vile! Not wanting to try that again, I used it on the heels of my feet and on my elbows and it worked a treat. I only ever used this at night time - it was far too oily for the day.
Repurchase? No.

Garnier Simply Essentials Soothing Cleansing Lotion
This one I inadvertently have kept quiet about, because I wasn't expecting to like this so much! My previous cleanser ran out, so I had to nip into the Superdrug at work to pick up a cheap cleanser. This smells nice, does a great job at removing make up (even eye make up), and generally works with my sensitive skin. It does however run out very quickly, but when it's only £2.99 I can forgive that!
Repurchase? Yes - already have!

So...? Brit Body Spray
This featured in my "To Use Up" post a couple of months ago, and I finished it up not long after. The scent wasn't for me at all, it was very flowery and surprisingly strong. To me, it smelt like every other body spray out there - nothing in the scent made it stand out. It's aimed for much younger girls I think and is better suited to them. I did find a use for it as an air freshener so it wasn't entirely wasted!
Repurchase? No.

L'Oreal Paris Elvive Triple Resist x3 Reinforcing Conditioner
I picked this up in somewhere like Bodycare when I was desperate for conditioner, and unknowingly at the time I picked up one that was matched to my hair type; my hair falls out/breaks very easily. I can't say I noticed a huge difference in that regard with this product, but it did make my hair appear healthy and feel nice and soft - which is all I ever want and look for in a conditioner anyway.
Repurchase? Yes.
