Event: FABB Bloggers Leeds

March 13, 2013

If you follow me on Twitter you may have heard about the FABB Bloggers event in Leeds. I certainly tweeted about it enough! As soon as I heard about it, I signed up straight away! Organised by Ray and Tor (the lovely ladies who organised the Leeds Blogger Meet Up last year), the event was held in Chilli White and proved to be a fun afternoon of chatting to other bloggers and hearing about some brands. Click the link to find out what happened at the event!

The first thing that caught my eye were rows upon rows of the most delicious looking cupcakes! Made by Rosie Macdonald, they looked incredibly impressive and everyone was eyeing them up. There were also some adorable cake pops made by Flossie's Kitchen.

There were so many bloggers there, I couldn't get my head around it all! I was quite shy and pretty much stuck to a corner, but the girls I did pluck up the courage to talk to were absolutely lovely!

Oooh, goody bags! I was intrigued as to what was in these. It turned out to be a whole heap of beauty products, reviews of which will be coming along in the forthcoming months I'm sure!

Just like last time, there was a schedule and personally I loved it. It made it feel like a proper occasion and everything felt organised. It was a good mix of chatting to other bloggers and talks from brands.

Just some of the lovely bloggers at the event! I pretty much stuck to this corner, and with a few drinks, it was quite cozy and companionable.

This was a quick talk from Jen at Cloud Nine, a brand that specialises in hair styling products such as curling wands and straighteners. I had never heard of them before so it was nice to see an alternative brand that sells quality hair styling tools. They very kindly offered one of their waving wands up for grabs, which was an unexpected surprise!

Another new brand, this was Health Point and their range of products called DermaV10. There was a goody bag up for offer, in which all the products cost £1 or less and can be found in stores such as Home Bargains and Bodycare. There's some really interesting products in there that I can't wait to try!

The time came to try one of Rosie's cupcakes... and hand on heart it was the yummiest cupcake ever! It was absolutely huge so eating it with any grace was near impossible, but the icing was delicious and the sponge soft and tasty. I may have to go hunting for more in the future!

More bloggers mingling! It was good to catch up with some of the girls from the meetup in 2012 (It didn't feel like it was seven months since I had last seen them!), and also meet some new faces.

Next up was a giveaway from Chiara Fashion. All of us had one of these slips of paper with a number, and my number turned out to be lucky as I won a piece of clothing! If it fits (I hope it does!), I'll be sure to include it in a OOTD post in the future.

The first girl to win something was Sally from Rainy Day Faces - she won an adorable dress!

Next up were Amy and Emma were from Best British Bloggers, who gave us a talk about what they do and how they work. I found this really helpful and interesting as I knew about them, but had no idea what they were about! They also took the time to talk to us bloggers and offer us the chance to sign up on their website, which was a really nice touch.

Finally, Jo and Carlie from ARK Clothing showed us some of their latest trends for Spring/Summer from their range Hearts & Bows. Crop tops and metallic skirts featured quite heavily, along with neon and tye dye. Most of it wasn't my cup of tea to be honest, but all of the clothing was reasonably priced and appeared to be good quality.

So there you have it! I had a fantastic afternoon and I hope there will be more in the future. I'd like to thank Ray and Tor for putting on a great event. They'll be bringing their events to Manchester and Newcastle very soon, follow their Twitter account to find out when they're coming to a town near you!
