JolieBox have got some exciting news! It was revealed a few weeks ago that they are partnering with the American beauty box company Birchbox, to form Birchbox UK. I don't know when this change is due to take place, but I'm excited to see what they come up with! Anyway, this month's box is ready for you to read about after the jump!
It was back to the regular black box this month after a couple of colourful boxes. I have to admit that I'll miss them but I can't complain too much, eh? However it might not be too long until this box design has gone forever so I'll treasure it I'm sure!
JolieMag this month was a very interesting read, with the cover featuring Fleur De Force. It was great to read about how she's made such a success of her blog/Youtube and I aspire to be like that one day! The theme this month is "Pure & Natural" and is packed with products to care for our skin as the weather turns colder. In the box this month are Ritessens Exfoliat, Móa The Green Balm, Jason Lips Bee Healthier lip balm, Lov Organic Love Is Beautiful tea and Balance Me Balancing Face Moisturiser.
Ritessens is a brand that I've never heard of before, and judging by the reverse of the packaging being in French, I would guess that's the origin of this product. This is a creamy exfoliant that contains argan oil, which has been raved about for hair but I've not heard of it being used on the skin before! I'm almost out of my tube of Scrub Your Nose In It, so when that is finished this will be replacing it.
I'm sure I've heard of this balm being in a beauty box before... is it just me? Anyway this is one of those wonder balms that has several different uses. The most obvious one is for lips but it can be used for dry skin on elbows and feet too. It is scent free and therefore ideal for those with sensitive skin. In all honesty this is probably going to end up being given away - I have far too many balms!
When I saw this and the balm above I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed... two balms in one box, along with a balm in the previous box? How many balms does one girl need?! However, I am glad that I received this because it is a lovely little product. According to the list of ingredients, it contains no petrolatum so this is right up my street, it also feels cool on my lips and smells like After Eight Mints!
Straight away I have to say that I don't like tea... at all! However, that is not JolieBox's fault. This tea does smell lovely and boasts lots of fruity and organic ingredients. I have given this to Martin to try, he loves all things tea so it won't be going to waste! The packaging is also to die for and I love the attention to detail with the labels on the teabags themselves, which are made out of muslin cloth.
Balance Me have made another appearance in a beauty box... it was inevitable that we'd see them again at some point! I'm a little bored of seeing face moisturisers in beauty boxes, I've tried far too many now that I haven't gotten along with and there's only so many I'm willing to try! I'm not keen on the scent at all, especially when it would be used on the face - so this sample will probably be given away too.
If I'm being honest, I'm not super impressed with this month's JolieBox! I did notice one thing that annoyed me; some people received a multipurpose tinted stick instead of the Balance Me moisturiser. JolieBox are usually very good and fair with the selection of products that people receive, but sending some people a full sized make up item and others a sample moisturiser from a brand we've seen several times before is a little unfair! All that being said however I'm not giving up on JolieBox and one mediocre box amongst several excellent ones is not bad going. See you next month JolieBox!
You can sign up to JolieBox via their website, and it costs £12.95 for one box per month.
