It's that time again... JolieBox time! This one came around far quicker than I was expecting, I thought it was like another two weeks away. I suppose that's because the box was late last month, but it still feels like it was two minutes since I last got one. I had already spoiled myself for this one (I usually avoid them at all costs) so I knew what was coming... and now it's my turn to tell you! Click the link below to find out what's in September's JolieBox.
This was another box designed by Timai Hua - leftover boxes from last month, perhaps? However I am not complaining at all, you might remember last month that I wished JolieBox would make these designs permanent. Maybe my wishes have been granted?
JolieMag this month featured an interview with Susan Chyi - the lady behind Jelly Pong Pong and her new range, So Susan Cosmetics. You may remember that her products were featured in last month's box so it was nice to find out more about the company. The theme this month was a nod towards London Fashion Week, "Runway ready", which is fairly self explanatory! In the JolieBox this month there are five products to dig our teeth into. These are Balmi lip balm, Twistbands, Redken Align 12 Protective Straightening Lotion, I Love... Face Mask and Dr. Bragi Bio Marine Exfoliant.
This was the item that I first saw when being spoilt for this box and I have to admit that I was pretty chuffed! I may have found my holy grail lip product but I'm so glad that I am able to try this. Everyone and their mother knows what Balmi is about by now so I won't bore you, but this is a lovely and soft lip balm. Being a spherical shape makes it super easy to apply and this scent, raspberry, smells like raspberry ripple ice cream! I will be using the string loop to attach it to my keys - a really handy feature.
These intrigued me when I was reading the menu that came with the box... a way of tying up your hair that doesn't leave those annoying bump marks? Sounds too good to be true! I have tried these already and I'm not convinced if I'm honest. These do leave a kink in your hair... not as bad as when using an elastic but it's still there. They also don't seem to hold my hair up very well, they start to slither down after an hour or so. However, I will always have a use for these, the orange one I can keep at home (not the most attractive colour), and the red one I can keep in my work bag as it will match my uniform!
I'm all about my hair at the moment so I was very pleased to see this in the box! I have heard of Redken before but have not yet had a chance to try their products. This claims to smooth hair and leave it naturally straight after drying. It also has added heat protection and anti-frizz... making it pretty perfect for me! The only thing that confuses me is that it is for "medium hair" - medium what? Medium length hair, medium thickness? I'm not sure but I will be adding this into my morning routine and am looking forward to the results. This is a pretty generous sample size so I can see it lasting a good long while.
This mask came at a pretty good time for me; I was thinking of buying a moisturising face mask, and now I have one! My skin is starting to feel particularly dry now that it is being exposed to all manners of horrid weather, so I'm hoping that this will give it the treat it needs. This is a peeling face mask, which is not what I was expecting for a moisturising mask. I got the mango variation and I'm really pleased that I did - there was a coconut one too and I can't stand the smell of coconut! Again this is a generous sample, I reckon that I could get two uses out of this.
Does anyone else think that the packaging is a little odd on these? Granted they are only samples but it's weird to see the actual product "floating" about inside the packet! Anyway... These were included as an extra from JolieBox. It is an exfoliant that claims to cleanse, smooth and renew skin, again something that I really need! I am a little wary about using this on my dry patches, but I will give these samples a fair shot. I have never heard of Dr. Bragi before, so this is an all new product for me.
As always I am pleased with this month's Joliebox - I've not had one that I've disliked yet! I think that it's very impressive that they've managed to get the Balmi lip balm in there, as lots of bloggers are talking about them at the moment and it couldn't be more relevant. Like last month this opened my eyes to some new brands, which is always exciting!
You can sign up to JolieBox via their website, and it costs £12.95 for one box per month.
