Revlon Crystalline in Bajan Brown

November 22, 2012

I decided to try out a slightly different way of taking these photos... what do you think? Personally I prefer them but let me know! Onto the polish itself, this time I have another pound shop special from Revlon. This was picked up by Martin quite a while ago and it was only when I was doing my "Top 5 Autumn Nail Polishes" post that I remembered that I had it! Try as I might I cannot find this online or in store anywhere, or even any information about it, so I can only presume that it is from a very old collection from Revlon. This is a "Crystalline" polish, which means that there is a copper shimmer that runs throughout that twinkles nicely when it catches the light.

I was a little disappointed by the brush if I'm honest - it was very thin and a bit of a pain to work with. The formula is very watery and it took three coats for almost full opacity... when I look at the polish in certain lights I can see some streakiness. In real life it tends to lean more rusty orange than brown, although there is a definite brown hue. I'm not sure how often this will be dug out of my nail polish collection but I have yet to find a nail polish that rivals this particular shade... making this an unusual gem to my collection.

As mentioned, this particular shade is impossible to find, but Revlon polishes can be bought from Boots for £6.49.
