Boots & Primark haul

October 30, 2012

As I was made redundant from my job last month, I managed to get some redundancy pay with my leave. This month also saw my first pay from my new job so I had a bit to spare this month! Like the last time I hauled I thought that a little spending spree was in order, and managed to make it into town on Sunday. Here's what I bought...

Boots, £16.50
You all know what's coming... yes, good old 3 for 2! I wasn't intending on visiting Boots at all, until I had an email telling me that there was a triple points weekend if you spent £30+ - erm, hello! This was a spontaneous purchase to be honest, but I've heard great things about it so I can't wait to give it a try.

Boots, £10
This is a new product to Soap & Glory's cosmetics range - I know, as if I need any more S&G make up! But my Arch De Triumph is on its way out, so I needed a replacement. This is the shade "Brownie Points" and was the only one left on the stand - it's clearly quite popular. I've used this already and I love it!

Boots, £12.49
This and the item above are what I really wanted to buy. Miss Budget Beauty highly recommends this foundation, and again my MUA one is running out. I ended up picking up the "Normal/Dry Skin" formula rather than the "Oily/Combination" one, which was a blessing in disguise - this foundation is amazing!

Boots, £1.39
The three items above came to £28.99, so I needed to spend another £1.01 to get my triple points! Again, this comes highly recommended by Miss Budget Beauty so into my basket it went. It feels like you get an awful lot of this product, so I reckon I could get a good couple of uses out of this.

Boots, £3.99
Finally, the product that I genuinely needed from Boots was this powder from Rimmel. For the last few month's I've been using 17's version, but haven't been getting along with it at all - so I'm very glad to be going back to this one! This is the shade "Transparent" which as you can imagine is the lightest shade.

Primark, £14
The first thing on my list that I wanted from Primark was a new cardigan - and I found it in this! I almost always go for long cardigans because they disguise all manner of lumps and bumps and of course, is lovely and warm. This is definitely ticking all the current fashion boxes - khaki and gold studded shoulders!

Primark, £4
This was not something I needed but something I fell in love with... isn't it gorgeous? The robin print screams 'winter' to me and upon closer inspection it's actually printed with coupled robins with a love heart between them - awww! This is lovely and thick and can be worn several ways.

Primark, £10
Seeing as I have far too many dresses in my wardrobe, I wanted to find some nice tops to throw on that aren't tshirts! You can barely tell at all, but this is covered in "dew drops" of black on the black fabric, and has a racerback sheer panel on the reverse. This will go with just about anything!

Primark, £10
Once I found a top that fit me so well I knew I would be stupid to not go back and get them in every colour - so I did! However, this was the only other colour that they had. This is in the same design as the previous one but the drops are gold, therefore they stand out a little more.

Primark, £11
Despite skinny fit not being the most flattering on me, it's pretty much all you can buy... so I made the most of it! I wanted something wine coloured for Autumn and these hit the mark spot on. They're not jeans, the fabric is hard to describe but it feels softer - almost velvety.

Primark, £13
I spotted these in a size 8 shoved in the middle of another rail... so I spent the next 15 minutes searching for my size! I'm so glad that I found them, they're a perfect fit and the print is similar to the background of my blog! Again these don't feel like jeans, more cotton-like and all the better for it.

Primark, £3.50
Last but not least, an essential - everyone knows about these! If you don't, you seriously need to buy a pair or two for winter because they are the best tights I own. My previous pair have lasted me a year with only a couple of faint pull marks. They are super soft and warm, thanks to the thick fleecy lining.
