I had seen this kit being reviewed by The Sunday Girl, and really wanted to give them a try. For some reason or another though I never got around to buying them and they were forgotten about. However, fate was about to strike a few months later and included in the goody bag from the Leeds Blogger Meet Up was the exact kit I had been wishing for! I think all the girls around me were sick of hearing about it because I was just so chuffed to have received them for review. So without further ado let me introduce you to the Washi! Skin Polishing Kit!
This little kit of wonder contains four hot cloths and a skin polishing towel; however with the information that Washi! gave us there was a little extra new product for us to try. So, rather than try and squeeze everything into one post, I have decided to split the review in two and write about the towel and the extra product in another post - you will have to wait until next week to find out what the extra product is! Moving onto the kit itself, the first thing I must point out is how beautiful the packaging is. Nothing pleases me more than seeing a beauty brand like this really putting some time and effort into packaging design and Washi! have hit the nail on the head here. The information sheets I got given too were so beautiful, printed on handmade paper, that I don't think I could ever bare to throw them away!
As mentioned previously this time around I'm focusing on the hot cloth, which is different to anything I've ever seen before. Made from pure cotton, these are thicker than a muslin cloth but thinner than a flannel, and smaller too. Texture wise they feel fairly similar to a flannel but not so rough. They are incredibly soft and Washi! claim that these retain heat better than muslin cloths, and wash better too - meaning no more nasty make up stains forever marking a cloth you're meant to be cleaning your face with! How you use them is exactly how you would imagine; dampen the cloth in hot/warm water, and use with your favourite cleanser to remove make up and cleanse the skin. You can also use them to remove extra fake tan from particularly absorbent areas of the skin such as the hands and feet, and to remove face masks etc.
Not being a fake tanner myself, I have been using one of the hot cloths over the last few weeks with Soap & Glory's Peaches & Clean on an evening, and to remove face masks once or twice a week. After all this time the cloth is still nice and white and isn't stained at all, which is very impressive! It feels incredibly soft on the skin and removes make up with ease. The texture really helps dig into all the nooks and crannies and also gently buffs my skin, making it feel nice and soft. Because these cloths are quite small and thin they are a perfect alternative to a flannel for taking on holiday, and that is exactly what I'll be doing when I go to Amsterdam in October!
Final verdict: A new hot cloth design that I think a lot of people would prefer over a muslin cloth. They are an absolute bargain too and would last you a very long time!
Washi! Skin Polishing Kit* is available to buy online for £5.95.
