Review: Tweezerman Mini Brow Rescue Kit

September 07, 2012

As you guys possibly saw me mention the other day, this kit was included in the Leeds Blogger Meet Up goody bag and I couldn't have been happier to see it! I had been after a new pair of tweezers for a long time; I had heard about the wonders of Tweezerman's versions but just couldn't justify spending more than a few pounds on a pair. So as soon as I got home after the meet up, I ripped the packaging open (after taking photos of course) and I put it straight to the test!

"The Brow Beauty Emergency QuickFix Right At Your Fingertips" - a direct quote from Tweezerman there and it pretty much sums up what this little kit is all about. The items included are all perfect for on-the-go touch ups, without compromising the quality that has come to be expected from Tweezerman's products. As well as a pair of mini tweezers it also contains a Browmousse, Eyehance highlighter pencil and brow shaping brush/spoolie, all in a hardwearing clear plastic case - no more digging around in the bottom of your bag to find the required tools!

Now obviously the tweezers were the highlight of the kit for me, and I wasn't disappointed. These tweezers are sharp, precise and perfectly aligned - I was able to pluck hairs that had only two days growth, which is quite a feat! They scream quality and I now can't imagine myself using any other pair of tweezers. Next up is the Browmousse; a clear gel that can be applied with the spoolie brush that is attached inside the lid. I used to use clear mascara or wax to keep my brows in place but this mousse shoots them both out of the water - it dries quickly, without appearing shiny at all. I was very impressed!

The highlighter pencil comes next, which is to be applied on the brow bone, under the arch to define and illuminate your brows. This is a shimmery, pale pink/champagne colour that draws on smoothly and blends well into the skin. This is a shade that worked well for me, and highlighted my brows without being overly obvious. Finally, the spoolie brush is a nice touch - a good size, with firm but soft to the touch bristles. If I'm honest though, I don't get much use out of it unless my brows are being particularly unruly. However, I know that it's an essential for others to comb through their brows before filling them in, so there we go!

Final verdict: A pretty perfect brow kit that will see you through the day. It could only be improved upon with the addition of a coloured pencil... does anyone agree?
