Leighton Denny Nail Colour in Coral Reef and MUA Professional Nail Quake in Gold Glitter
October 15, 2012This Leighton Denny polish is one I'm sure a lot of you will recognise, as it came free with a magazine not so long ago. I tried it out at the time and couldn't get it to work, so it went back into my collection and I forgot all about it. This was until I had a "bright colours" day at work (basically wearing anything brightly coloured); I decided to wear my coral jeans. I wasn't originally going to paint my nails to match, but having just taken an old one off I remembered that I had this! The application was so much better this time around; it was smooth, easy to work with and I really like the brush. It didn't dry very quickly though which meant that it took a little longer than usual, but it only needed two coats so it wasn't unreasonable.
The MUA Nail Quake polish I've spoken about before, so I won't bore you with that one! Again I wasn't originally intending to use it but thought that I might as well go the whole hog and match the gold to the studs in my boots. In the image above I could not get the colour of the Leighton Denny polish right at all, it unfortunately has come out very muddy in tone - the top image is pretty much spot on in terms of what it looks like in real life. To me it leans towards the pink end of the spectrum rather than the orange, but it is beautifully bright and definitely stands out in a crowd!
Leighton Denny Nail Colours can be bought from their website for £11 (exc. P+P). The MUA Nail Quake polish is available for £2.99 from selected Superdrug stores selling their "Professional" line; a list of stores can be found here.
