The best things in life are usually unplanned, are at least hastily planned anyway, and this was the case with the event I went to last Sunday. If you hadn't already guessed by the title, it was the Plus Size Pre Party held by Sarah from Sad Excuse of a Girl for the Plus North event that is happening at the end of August. I heard about this last minute from some of my fellow Leeds bloggers, and promptly (and quite cheekily) asked if I could come along. Sarah kindly said yes and I ended up having a wonderful time! I'll write about it properly in another post - as I always do with these kind of things - but being among other stylish bloggers than myself I decided to dress relatively smart-casual. I think you'll agree that this outfit leans quite heavily towards the latter! Being one of those rare hot, humid days that graced Yorkshire with it's presence, I decided that my new trousers from Matalan should get their first outing. I absolutely love these; they're flattering, unique and most importantly, comfortable. It honestly felt like I was wearing jogging bottoms or pyjamas for the entire day, just a bit more stylish! I've already purchased the same pair in the animal print as I love them so much - I really hope that they bring them out in more designs. The top is one of my favourites, as it goes with absolutely everything. It features a brocade detail in the fabric, which makes it a little bit more interesting than a plain tshirt - not that you can really see it in the photos, but rest assured it is there! You can see what I mean in this haul post, where I picked up a couple more colours. The necklace you may also recognise from my Matalan haul and is one of my new favourites. I really like how it sits perfectly around the collar of my top and helps bring the outfit together - I feel without it, the outfit might have been a little bit plain. I also wore my bag from Next, which goes with me everywhere now and my flats from Primark, which are starting to wear down already so I'll have to invest in a new pair. I want to pick up some sandals, which is what I really wanted to wear with this outfit but I do not own any as of yet! If anyone has any recommendations - in tan or black - then do let me know.
